Are you thinking of planning a trip this year? When you do plan a trip what type of resources do you use when you consider where you are going and where to stay? Do you take the advice of a travel advisor when you plan a trip? I am willing to bet that in some form or another you do indeed get advice from a trip advisor although you may not even realize it.
A trip advisor has come to be such a broad term now a days especially with the advances of the internet and mobile technology. A lot of people go to online travel sites to plan their trips and one of the first things you will see when you go to these sites are “hot deals” or “last minute travel deals”. We get wowed into thinking hey I wanted to go to destination ABC and that looks like a great deal so I will take the advice of the site and book that trip.
What ever happened to the good old days when you would book your travel plans based on an actual persons advice? Now most travel sites have “travel advisor” updates for you to get the best deals on upcoming trips. This is all fine and dandy but more often than not your “trip advisor” is giving you all the shine and polish of the deal for your trip and you are not getting any real world feedback about your destination and what to expect.
So what’s a good alternative? Well there is a site on the web that will give you real world feedback from real world travelers that can give you honest travel advice. The site is called Trip Advisor and in case you have never heard of it. It’s a great living breathing community of millions of travelers all sharing their travel experiences and destinations. There are user generated reviews of destinations all over the world with comments, blogs and newsletters. All of it is user generated and as far as I am concerned the best trip advisors are the people that have experienced the trip before you not the people that are trying to sell it to you.

The THIRTY THIRTY hotel in NY is incredibly terrible! First of all, I booked a standart room with my boyfriend and when we arrived our room was occupied. Instead of giving us a better room, they gave us a SINGLE ROOM, with a single bed for two people, after being exhausted of a long trip. The joking hadn’t finished there. I’d never seen so terrible service. The doorman spent all the time looking us while we were carrying our bags. The attendance was totally stupid and inneficient. In the last day (thank god!), we paid the “good price” hotel in my boyfriend’s credit card. However, surprise! My credit card, that i used for booking, was charged too, without my authorization. I saw that some days later, when my bill came and I was in my country. No receipt for this fee, no information, nothing! How can we stay in a hotel that we can’t trust? You’d better pay some cents more and have no headache later, that’s my advise and what i learned.
How do I add your RSS feed to my reader? I could do with a little beginners help
