A cheap hotel near? I was wondering how many millions of people are typing in that very question this year? I need a cheap hotel near? Or maybe this one I want to stay at a cheap hotel close to? I was recently looking to book a hotel for a little vacation that we are trying to book for a long weekend sometime in the late summer. I just noticed how I kept typing in the phrase a cheap hotel near such and such city when it occurred to me how many more millions of people have changed their travel requirements to include the term a cheap hotels near.
When you think about that simple little phrase and how many people are typing in cheap hotel near my destination city. I think it just speaks volumes to how much we as a society have shifted in our priorities to going on vacation but going in the cheapest hotel we can find. Think about that for a second it was probably not that long ago, perhaps even only a year ago when people were still staying at the hotels they wanted to stay at. Giving more priority to convenience and luxury items as opposed to the price of the hotel. People were staying as close to their final destination as they could and usually in the best accommodations that money could buy. Now we are all about finding the cheapest hotel near or the cheapest hotel somewhere in the vicinity of where you want to stay but the cheaper the better.
Just when you do a quick google search on finding the cheapest hotel near you come up with almost 50 million sites about finding the cheapest hotels. Do another quick google search only instead of looking up the cheapest hotel near this time look up the luxury hotels near, wow what a difference only 11 million sites for that. That is almost an even five cheap hotels near sites to every one for luxury hotels near. I just don’t remember looking to book travel plans in the past with goal of finding the cheapest hotel near. Normally the first thing we would look for when booking our travel plans would be finding the best hotel with all the amenities we wanted and in the location we needed it to be in. If that meant costing us a few more dollars that was OK, but now that the recession is in full swing. That cheap hotel near phrase is at the top of our priority list as we look to book our next travel plans.
I mean let’s face it websites like priceline dot com, travelocity or orbitz would not be in business today if not for the fact that we are all about finding the cheapest hotel near. That whole travel website industry was founded on that simple little phrase if you think about it, people searching for the cheapest hotel near. That phrase and websites like those with the ease of access on the internet have come together to pretty much put an end to an almost extinct career that was once known as a travel agent.
So here we are subscribing to a couple of travel advisors off of different websites waiting for the best cheap hotel near rate that we can get. I will say this for the recession it sure has the made the search for cheap hotels near our destination all the more enjoyable as rates compared to last year have to be a good ten percent cheaper than they were just a year ago. So I take solace in knowing as each week goes by and we see new cheaper hotel rates than we saw just a year ago that at least we will have no problems finding a cheap hotel near, for this year anyway
